Task
Our team task for this STEM project was to create a small vehicle that could carry a mass of 100 pennies a distance of 5 meters. But because we were trying to create a car with alternative energy; gasoline and electricity could not be used. Our vehicle was the only car that drove the closest to the 5 meter mark without going over. We also had the greatest the speed and cost efficiency out of all the cars in 3/4'. The idea was that we made vehicle prototypes and were presenting them to buyers to try and get our car to become the new car on the roads. If you want to look at the specs of the car, just click on the pdf below.

The Car
The car has three wheels, two small ones in the front, one big wheel in the back.
The engine is a rat trap attached to the base, with a string attached to the vehicle
When we wind up the wheel, the rat trap goes back.
When you let go, the rat trap is released, and the car goes.

Key Points
Potental Energy= the energy possessed by a body by virtue of its position relative to others, stresses within itself, electric charge, and other factors.
Kenetic Energy= energy that a body possesses by virtue of being in motion.
Impulse= it is a certain amount of force applied over a specific amount of time.
Momentum= the amount of force behind an object, making it harder to stop due to Newton's first law, which states that an object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force.
Thermal Energy= the internal energy of an object due to the kinetic energy of its atoms and/or molecules.

Peaks
We were efficient with our time. When we were on the thrid day of building, we were already done, and we started to adjust the car.
We were the top car in speed, distance accuracy and cost efficiency.
My team was really good at adapting. When we switched car designs, they were not stuck to the original design, but moved on.

Pits
(I actually don't have that many negative things to say)
We had to redesign our car three times, in the future we should make a reasonable car design, without balloons.
We had trouble with finding PE and KE
